About this Skill

Handraw Style is yang0’s open-source collection of 15 named Skills. It combines hand-drawn prompt and layout workflows with posters, covers, article illustrations, character design and photography planning. Video direction, browser MP4 and Jianying drafts have their own workflows, with supporting voice and library tools. Open a member below for its task, dependencies and usage example. Install the complete repository to preserve their shared resources.

Why we picked it

Choose the individual workflow that matches your task. Each child has its own entrypoint and requirements, while galleries, reference assets and video contracts remain shared in the full repository.

What it helps with

  • Creators making illustrated social cards, posters and article covers.
  • Educators and writers turning comparisons, explanations or processes into hand-drawn infographics.
  • Storytellers planning multi-panel comics with a defined layout and consistent visual style.
  • Creators planning portraits, narrated picturebooks and editable video drafts, or maintaining their own visual libraries.

Separate workflows with shared resources

The skills/ directory contains 15 direct SKILL.md entrypoints, all listed as children below. Browser and Jianying producers are route-specific subworkflows called by the video controller. The root entrypoint and sibling references keep the package connected; listing a workflow separately does not make it a self-contained installation.

Choose a style, layout and color separately

The current README describes styles numbered 001–329, 165 layout patterns and 36 theme colors. Layout families cover social cards, infographics, comic storyboards, IP design and e-commerce. The three screenshots show the author's layout gallery; their visible counts reflect the screenshots rather than a live inventory.

A style sets linework, medium and visual treatment. A layout sets composition and text structure. A theme color sets the palette direction. Supply your subject, intended placement and any exact text; leave style or color unspecified when you want the agent to recommend them.

From a topic to a copyable image prompt

  1. Browse or ask for a recommendation

Browse the included style, layout and color galleries, or describe the desired message and mood. Indexed choices can be combined instead of selecting a fixed all-in-one template.

  2. Set the image and text mode

Pure-image mode focuses on illustration. Graphic-text mode makes supplied copy part of the composition. Selecting a normal layout also selects its text structure; explicit aspect ratios and constraints should be supplied with your request.

  3. Copy the prompt or request generation

Style-only requests return Chinese and English prompts; layout combinations use the theme's language. Where the model needs a reference, the Skill resolves a numbered local reference image. Actual generation depends on your available image tool.

Posters, covers and article illustrations

Poster prompts

Provide a theme, audience and use case. The poster workflow combines style and color choices with a structured prompt for illustration and typography.

Article and video covers

Supply article text or a subtitle transcript to extract the central message, audience and a visual metaphor for the cover.

Article illustration planning

Plan illustration points across a longer article while keeping a common style and color direction. Generated or supplied images can be inserted back into Markdown.

Install the complete repository

  1. Ask Codex to install it

The author's documented method is to give Codex the repository URL and ask it to install the Skill. Ask it to preserve the root entrypoint, nested Skills and shared reference assets together.

  2. Clone for inspection

The command below downloads the repository. Open it in Codex and point the agent to the root SKILL.md. Cloning alone does not register a personal Skill; ask the agent to configure installation in its Skills root.

    git clone https://github.com/yang0/handraw-style.git
  3. Preserve the shared assets

Copying only the nested handdraw-style-prompter folder omits resources expected at the package root. Read DEPENDENCIES.md before running optional scripts, image generation or video workflows.

A useful first request

Make a hand-drawn infographic prompt for a beginner's pour-over coffee guide. Use layout IG-002, recommend a suitable style and theme color, use a 3:4 aspect ratio, and write the headings in Chinese. Give me the complete prompt first.

Free access, attribution and author previews

The repository uses an MIT License with an additional attribution requirement. It permits use, modification, distribution and commercialization while requiring retained copyright notices and visible credit to yang0 with the original repository link for derived work.

The comic storyboard, infographic and social card screenshots on this page are supplied by the original project and compressed for display. SkillHey has reviewed these previews and the documentation; it has not performed a new image-generation run for this listing.

Before you use it

  • The author documents installation with Codex. Keep the complete repository together: the root SKILL.md routes to nested Skills and shared galleries, reference images and indexes.
  • Prompt writing does not require an image-generation account. Producing images requires the image tools or model access supplied by your agent or chosen provider; those services have their own pricing.
  • Optional Python utilities require Python 3.10 or later and the repository's requirements.txt. Video and voice workflows have additional documented tools and service requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Skill free?

The open-source repository is free to obtain and supports commercial use under its attribution terms. Your agent subscription, image generation and optional external services have their own costs.

Does it generate images automatically?

It can write prompts without an image service. Actual images require a generation tool or provider available to your agent and an explicit generation request.

Must I select every number?

No. Describe the subject and ask for a style and color recommendation. Supply a layout ID when you want a particular composition, or browse the included gallery first.
